Starting on June 7th, FEMA will be conducting massive emergency drills in preparation for “The Really Big One,” which they believe will strike within the next 100 years. Scientists believe the fault zone, known as the Cascade Subduction Zone, will hit with a magnitude 9.0 or higher casing pure devastation in the area.
FEMA’s team plans to simulate conditions surrounding the projected earthquake and its accompanying tsunami by conducting disaster drills including some 50 counties from Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. Members from non-governmental organizations, the private sector, federal officials, military, tribal and state agencies will all be involved.
Obviously, they believe this is a real threat and those in the area should be prepared. This, by far, will be the largest disaster that Americans have seen in all of US history…if it occurs as scientists believe it will.
