President Trump and the Neoconservative Establishments March Towards War

President Trump came into office wanting to reset relations with Russia and go after China on trade. The reset with Russia has been hard fought by the neoconservative establishment from even before he took office. The establishment has wanted to militarily attack and destroy Russia for the last several years. President Trump’s grand reset is dead and now we are looking at possibly a war on two fronts at the same time. One with Syria backed by Russia and the other with North Korea by China, both governments openly challenges our leadership hegemony in the world. The outcome from President Trump’s choices with these two countries could have a lasting and permanent effect on our standing in the world.

Today ahead of meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, President Trump told Fox News, “We have not been treated fairly on trade for many, many years.” According to the Jerusalem post, President Trump stated earlier today when asked about his willingness on acting alone against North Korea, “Certainly I would be but I think China will want to be stepping up.”

Syria and Russia

Secretary of State Tillerson stated at his press conference, “…very important Russia’s government should consider carefully their continued support for the Assad regime,” when asked about organizing an international coalition to remove Assad he further stated, “those steps are under way… considering an appropriate response…it a serious matter it requires serious response”

McCain, John

Today Senator John McCain released the following statement, “We agree with the President that Assad has crossed a line with his latest use of chemical weapons. The message from the United States must be that this will not stand. We must show that no foreign power can or will protect Assad now. He must pay a punitive cost for this horrific attack.
