Breaking News: Thousands of Americans are heading to the United States-Mexican border to demand justice. Mad as hell and saying they are not taking it anymore, protesters allege that today's border crisis involves more than meets the eye, according to over 300 organizations sending people to both sides of the border. Their anger stems from something held secret for too long: a secret "involving perpetrators of targeted individuals and targeted killings. They intend to ensure Americans learn the truth once and for all, they say -- arrested or not.
Faith-based groups and activists of all walks of life have had enough of US taxpayer dollars funding what they say are ongoing atrocities -- mainly south of the border.

Entire communities are targeted for assassination and state repression throughout the Americas. And who is leading this carnage? You got that right so far: Latinos. And who has been funding those Latinos to commit such atrocities? The U.S. government. U.S. trained military and police forces have been training soldiers and other forces from Latin America to commit political violence for 25 years.
The result of the U.S. led training? People from Latin American continue being forced to flee to the U.S.-trained repressive security forces. Upon arrival as refugees, they are "confronted with a militarized border, racist laws, and Americans' xenophobic rhetoric in this election cycle," says SOA Watch in a statement on Monday.
Training that the US has been giving to Latin American soldiers, including torturing and assassinating, is transferable. The thousands of Latinos who've learned from US troops at Fort Benning Georgia can then train anyone else how to torture and target kill. It is apparent they have done just that - and not just in Latin American countries. Increasingly the same tactics are being applied to innocent people within the U.S. borders. The blame, however, is rarely on the U.S. Department of Defense who initially provided the training.
"Black and Brown bodies in the U.S. continue to be targeted, systematically imprisoned, and killed in the same way," SOA Watch says.
"We can no longer separate the issues and today we say enough. We cannot look at immigration reform without looking at its root cause," the statement continues. "We cannot discuss police brutality or the prison industrial complex in the U.S. without discussing its root purpose.
"State violence is used to exert control and oppress our communities in order to maintain an exploitative racist system that benefits the few."
The convergence will include workshops and events on both sides of the U.S./ Mexico border, art, music, and resistance. The public is urged to join.
