Source: Pacific Northwest Fires: Pacific Storm To Impact Friday Night into The Weekend
A Pacific Storm will impact the Pacific Northwest starting Friday night and going into the weekend, bringing heavy rainfall at times. Fire efforts will certainly be helped greatly with such a system coming in, read on for more.
The system is out in the Pacific at the current time, moving westward toward the United States. A deep trough moving through on Friday night will start the heavy rain in Western Oregon … moving into Washington on Saturday with very heavy rain at times.
Flooding will be likely in the region as we may have over 0.5″ to 0.9″ of rainfall in a six hour period, which includes much of the Willamette Valley in Western Oregon, stretching up the Cascades into Washington State, including Puget Sound’s forecast region and the Kitsap Peninsula.
We will have more on it, but the more hotter the color (red) you are in the map zone the more likely you’ll see heavier rainfall leading up to flooding … with the less chances for colder (blue/green) colors …
