What happens when anyone but God tries to be just like God?

Isaiah 14:12-15 

12 “How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! 13 For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’ 15 Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, To the lowest depths of the Pit.

CERN. What exactly is it...really?  How many articles have been published online just in the past few months on this devilish operation? And, out of all of those articles, how many theories, opinions and ideas have been presented? The truth is, people are fascinated with the unknown, and given the times we are living in, people are also fascinated with CERN. 

Technology is a wonderful thing. Personally, I am a lover of technology! Many women might prefer to peruse the cosmetics, perfume, jewelry, and clothing departments at most stores, but I am a bit different. I see the electronics section and make a B-line, where I end up spending a great deal of time drooling over the latest gadgets and gizmos. But is there a point where it goes too far, crossing that fine line between 'cool' and 'awesome' to a sinful attempt to try and become like God?

And, when you mix that technology with spiritual 'matters', well, you could say a point has definitely been reached that should raise 'more than' a few eyebrows. 

When I stop and consider how God must feel, (after all, He has some pretty BIG decisions to make on a daily basis, and He never gets a day off from being "God"), I realize that oftentimes, we beg Him to be God by fixing this and fixing that. But, in truth, we spend much of our time complaining and telling God how things ought to be done, or how we want it done.  "God, I want you to give me this job I interviewed for today. The money is great, the hours are perfect, and it's really close to home. [So no matter what You want for my life, I'm disregarding it. This is about what I want] I'm believing they will call me tomorrow and offer me the position becuase I know this is what you want for me [since it's what I want] since everything seems so perfect.  Thanks Father! Amen!"  

Or, "Heavenly Father, I am fed up with that person at work! They are always giving me trouble and I know they are just jealous of me! I give You thanks and praise that very soon, You are going to cause them to get fired.  Oh, You will bless them with a job elsewhere, but You will surely get that person away from me! [I will never have to learn how to deal with people in a Godly fashion, witness, pray for them, or love my enemies, because You are just going to rescue me from every obstacle in life! (NOT)]"

That being said, would you or I really be any good at being God, for even a day?  I think if I had ever been given the chance to be God for a day, thermal nuclear war would have taken place a long time ago, a few ex's would have paid a visit to the hospital, and there would undoubtedly be a few women walking the face of this planet with shaved heads, mustaches, and blemishes all over their faces.  Needless to say, I am glad that, even for a day, I have not been given the option of the "God" job. 

I find it pretty amazing as I reflect back in the Bible, and even in world history, at the many people who tried to rule and dictate as a God. From Haman to Julius Caesar...Stalin to Hitler, much blood has been shed over men trying to take the place of God. It's just NOT going to ever work because the one and only true God will never allow it.  We can see all throughout history the many failed attempts and outcomes. 

The same is true with CERN.  They hope to be just like God (whom they do not believe in) by creating life, sustaining it, and communicating with entities.  I guess the more replacements we find for God, the less we need Him. And, that is right up Satan's alley. 

CERN and the Halls of Hell

So here we have this amazingly powerful technological creation designed to open 'portals' into 'other worlds' and to attempt to 'create' life in a way other than the way God designed (by MAN and WOMAN unting in marriage and concieving---not man to man, or woman to woman, BIG 'Bang' events, or anything contrary, because it just will not work). 

Has anyone stopped to ask God, the actual Creator (the ONLY ONE who can make something out of nothing), what He thinks about all of this?  One doesn't have to look too far for too long to find the answers---it's in the Bible! What is being done today is an absolute abomination! When mankind first attempted with the construction of the Tower of Babel, we can clearly see that God was not at all happy about their wicked plans.

Genesis 11:1-9 

Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. 3 Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake themthoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. 4 And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.”

5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built.6 And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.7 Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” 8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. 9 Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.

But wait. Do you ever wonder how come God halted the construction of the Tower of Babel, yet has allowed NASA to reach places far above and beyond the heights of the Tower of Babel? Is it possible the very place in which they constructed the Tower of Babel was a spiritual portal? Were they making it in an effort to reach heaven and the spiritual places through some strange gap in time and space? And then, of course, God could not allow such a thing, so He had to immediately stop it?

We can even go back before the Tower of Babel to the very sin of Lucifer (Satan) who tried to be just like God. As a result, he and one third of his angels were turned into hellish beings and cast from the presence of God forever! However, they maintain(ed) enough 'wicked' power in order to make themselves appear as angels of light!

What implications might this have on our lives today and in the near future?

Revelation 9:2-3 And he opened the bottomless pit, and smoke arose out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace. So the sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke of the pit. Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
